전북현대모터스FC(단장 이도현, 이하 전북현대)가 연이은 원정경기와 휴식기를 끝내고 한 달 만에 홈에서 팬들을 맞는다.

전북현대는 오는 23일 저녁 7시 30분 강원FC와 K리그1 23라운드를 전주월드컵경기장에서 치른다.

이날 경기는 지난 K리그1 22라운드에서 2대0으로 지고 있던 상황을 각각 3대2 역전(전북현대)과 2대2 동점(강원FC)으로 극장 경기를 연출한 주인공 간의 맞대결로 많은 관심이 쏠린다.

특히 올 시즌 K리그1 11번의 홈 경기를 치르며 누적관중 194,805명을 기록한 전북현대는 이날 경기에서 20만 관중 돌파를 앞두고 있다.

이는 2012년 실관중 집계 이후 최단경기(12경기) 20만 관중 달성 기록으로 올 시즌 팀의 상승세와 함께 높아진 팬심을 방증하고 있다.

21일 오전 기준 평일 경기임에도 불구하고 시즌 티켓을 제외한 일반 예매만 8천여 명을 넘어서고 있어 홈 관중 20만 기록을 무난히 달성할 것으로 보인다.

또한 지난 3월 16일 포항전으로 시작으로 지는 법을 잊은 전북현대는 130여 일간 무패 행진을 이어가고 있으며 강원을 상대로 19경기 무패에도 도전한다.

이날 경기의 매치볼은 전북현대 N팀 홈 경기 중에 나타나 인연이 된 ‘엔북이’가 보호자와 함께 매치볼 딜리버리로 나선다.

‘엔북이’는 지난 5월 완주공설운동장에서 발견됐으며 이후 전북현대 팬이 보호소를 통해 입양해 가족이 되었다.

전북현대는 폭염이 예상되는 23일, N석에 워터캐논 8대를 설치해 팬들의 무더위를 식혀줄 수 있도록 할 예정이다.

경기 전에는 지난 달에 이어 두 달 연속 ‘이달의 감독상’에 선정된 거스 포옛 감독과 6월 ‘이달의 선수상’을 수상한 콤파뇨의 시상식이 진행된다.

또한 전북문화관광재단 MOU 체결식과 함께 취타대 퍼포먼스를 실시하고 하프타임에는 대형기, 상모돌리기 등 공연이 연출된다.
