(재)전주문화재단(대표이사 최락기)은 10월 1일부터 시작되는 추석 연휴 기간 동안 시민과 전주를 찾는 관광객들을 위해 공연과 전시, 축제, 체험 프로그램을 두루 마련했다. 이번 프로그램은 전통과 현대를 아우르며, 가족과 어린이, 청소년, 외국인 관광객까지 모두가 즐길 수 있도록 기획돼 가을빛 전주에서 특별한 추억을 선사할 예정이다

■ 공연

연휴의 시작은 전주한벽문화관에서 열리는 ‘수요일 수많은 콘서트’로 문을 연다. 프로베온 공연(10.1.)은 브람스 음악을 소재로 한 음악극으로 꾸며져 깊은 울림을 전한다. 이어 전주공예품전시관 마당에서는 한국의 거문고와 프랑스 콘트라베이스가 함께하는 「거문고, 그 끝없는 여정」(10.4.~5.)이 펼쳐져 전통과 현대, 동서양이 만나는 이색적인 무대를 선보인다.
더불어 판소리 ‘수궁가’를 현대적으로 재해석한 「오! 난 토끼 아니오!」(10월 11일)가 앵콜 창극의 명성을 연휴 주말 이어갈 예정이다.

■ 전시

연휴 기간 전주의 전시공간들은 다채로운 기획으로 관람객을 맞는다. 전주천년한지관에서는 세 번째 기획전 「한지가 품은 마음의 자리, 지심처(紙心處)」가 이어지고, 한국전통문화전당에서는 전국 어린이 한지미술대회 전시(10.2.~28.)가 열려 아이들의 상상력을 한지에 담는다.
2036 전주하계올림픽 유치 염원을 담은 전국 어린이 한지미술대회 수상작 전시도 10월 한 달간 한국전통문화전당 3층 기획전시실에서 진행된다. 한지산업지원센터에서는 전국한지공예대전 수상작과 함께 초대작가전(10.2.~28.)이 마련돼 한지 공예의 깊은 아름다움을 감상할 수 있다. 아울러 일본 가나자와 공예인들과의 함께하는 교류전이 국제한지산업대전 전시 일환으로 진행돼 일본 공예인들의 예술혼을 엿볼 수 있는 기회도 주어진다.

■ 축제행사

추석 연휴의 대표 무대는 역시 한지와 공예 축제다. 한국전통문화전당 일원에서는 전주국제한지산업대전(10.2.~4.)이 ‘이것이 한지다’를 주제로 열리며, 국제한지패션쇼, 전주한지운동회, 한지로운 밤, 각종 한지체험 및 시연 등 다양한 시민참여형 프로그램이 마련된다.
특히 이번 행사에서는 미국, 캐나다, 베트남, 아랍에미리트 등 4개국 10개소에서 한지 윷놀이, 한지 제기차기, 한지 딱지치기 등 한지 체험이 이어지며, 전주에서 시작된 놀이가 세계 곳곳의 일상으로 확장된다.
한지산업지원센터 일원에서는 제4회 전주공예박람회(10.3.~4.)가 열려 40여 종의 공예체험을 무료로 즐길 수 있으며, 오목대 전통정원에서는 공예주간 공예놀이터(10.3.~4.)가 펼쳐져 어린이와 가족 단위 관람객을 맞는다.
전주공예품전시관과 오목대 일원에서는 추석맞이 한가위 한마당 ‘들썩’(10.5.~9.)이 마련돼 할인 행사와 무료 체험으로 흥겨운 명절 분위기를 더한다. 이 밖에도 전주천년한지관에서는 한지골 한가위 한마당(10.2.~5.)이 열려 한지체험과 전통놀이로 세대가 함께 어우러질 수 있다

Jeonju Cultural Heritage Foundation (Representative Director Choi Rak-gi) has prepared performances, exhibitions, festivals, and experience programs for citizens and tourists visiting Jeonju during the Chuseok holiday period starting from October 1st. This program encompasses both traditional and modern elements, designed to provide a special autumn experience in Jeonju for families, children, teenagers, and foreign tourists.

■ Performances

The holiday kicks off with the "Wednesday Numerous Concert" at Jeonju Hanbyeok Cultural Center. The Proveon performance (Oct. 1) is a musical drama based on Brahms' music, offering a deep resonance. Following that, at the Jeonju Craft Exhibition Hall courtyard, "Gayageum, Its Endless Journey" (Oct. 4-5) presents a unique stage where Korean gayageum and French contrabass meet, combining traditional and modern, East and West elements.
Additionally, the modern reinterpretation of the pansori "Sugungga" titled "Oh! I'm Not a Rabbit!" (Oct. 11) will continue the tradition of encore performances on the holiday weekend.

■ Exhibitions

During the holiday period, various exhibition spaces in Jeonju welcome visitors with diverse curated programs. The Jeonju Millennium Hanji Museum continues its third planned exhibition, "Jisimcheo, the Place of Paper Heart," while the National Children's Hanji Art Contest Exhibition (Oct. 2-28) at the Korean Traditional Culture Center captures children's imagination on hanji.
Moreover, the award-winning works from the National Children's Hanji Art Contest, expressing the desire for the 2036 Jeonju Summer Olympics, will be exhibited at the Korean Traditional Culture Center's 3rd-floor exhibition hall throughout October. At the Hanji Industry Support Center, alongside the award-winning works of the National Hanji Craft Competition, a special exhibition by invited artists (Oct. 2-28) will allow visitors to appreciate the profound beauty of hanji crafts. Additionally, an exchange exhibition with Japanese Kanazawa artisans will be held as part of the International Hanji Industry Exhibition, providing an opportunity to glimpse into the artistic souls of Japanese artisans.

■ Festival Events

The representative stage of the Chuseok holiday is the Hanji and Craft Festival. At the Korean Traditional Culture Center, the Jeonju International Hanji Industry Exhibition (Oct. 2-4) will be held under the theme "This is Hanji," featuring international hanji fashion shows, Jeonju Hanji Marathon, Hanji Night, various hanji experiences, and demonstrations for citizen participation.
In particular, this event will feature hanji experiences such as hanji yutnori (traditional board game), hanji jegichagi (shuttlecock kicking), and hanji ddakjichigi (flipping game) from 10 locations in 4 countries including the United States, Canada, Vietnam, and the United Arab Emirates, expanding traditional games from Jeonju to everyday life worldwide.
At the Hanji Industry Support Center, the 4th Jeonju Craft Fair (Oct. 3-4) will offer over 40 types of craft experiences for free, while at Omokdae Traditional Garden, the Craft Week Craft Playground (Oct. 3-4) will welcome children and families. The Jeonju Craft Exhibition Hall and Omokdae will host the "Dulseok" Hanok Village Festival (Oct. 5-9) with discount events and free experiences to enhance the festive atmosphere of the holiday. Additionally, the Hanji Autumn Festival (Oct. 2-5) at the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Museum will bring generations together through hanji experiences and traditional games.
