한국장애인단체총연맹(이하 ‘한국장총’)은 9월 25일 제53차 임시총회에서 제11대 공동대표단을 새롭게 선출했다.
한국장총 공동대표는 총 5명으로 한국농아인협회 채태기 회장, 한국장애인부모회 고선순 회장, 한국시각장애인연합회 김영일 회장, 경상북도장애인복지단체협의회 김재원 회장, 한국장애인문화협회 신동일 회장이 선출 되었으며, 채태기 회장이 상임대표를 맡는다.
채태기 상임대표는 경기도농아인협회 회장(2004~2012년)을 맡았으며, 현재 한국농아인협회 중앙회 회장을 맡고 있다. 오랜 기간 농인(聾人) 사회의 권익 신장과 의사소통 환경 개선을 위해 힘써왔으며, 수어(手語)의 공용화 및 확산을 통해 장애인의 사회참여 확대에 앞장서고 있다.
고선순 공동대표는 최중증 중복장애 자녀를 둔 부모 활동가로 40년 이상 현장에서 장애인 가족의 삶과 복지를 위한 한국장애인부모회장을 맡고 있으며, 경기도장애인가족지원센터장과 에벤에셀선교원 및 쉼터 원장 등 역임하였다. 고령장애인과 장애인을 돌보는 가족에 대한 복지 강화를 위해 노력하고 있다.
김영일 공동대표는 조선대학교 특수교육과 교수로 한국시각장애인연합회장과 광주장애인인권센터 이사장, 한국특수교육학회 부회장, 국립재활원 운영심의회 위원 등을 맡고 있으며, 초대 국립장애인도서관장을 역임하였다. 시각장애인을 포함한 장애인의 정보 접근 등 장애인 교육 및 복지정책에 힘쓰고 있다.
김재원 공동대표는 경상북도장애인복지단체협의회 회장이자 경상북도 공공어린이재활병원 TF팀의 공동대표를 맡고 있다. 또한, 뉴스 경북 신문사 발행인(2014~)으로서 지역 장애인 복지와 언론의 공공성 강화를 위해 노력하고 있다.
