전북현대 유스팀 전북현대U18전주영생고(교장 이장훈, 이하 전북현대U18)가 전국 최정상에 올랐다.
전북현대U18은 10일 경남 고성공설운동장에서 열린 ‘제48회 문화체육관광부장관배 전국고등학교 축구대회’ 결승전에서 천안제일고를 꺾고 우승을 차지했다.
경기 초반 천안제일고 진영에서 공을 따낸 전북현대U18은 페널티박스 밖에서 기다리고있던 미드필더 장시우(16번)에게 볼을 연결했다.
패스를 이어받은 장시우(16번)는 전반 6분 지체없이 상대 골망을 가르는 슈팅으로 첫골을 기록했다.
전반 19분 주장 노연우(38번)가 돌파 중 상대 발에 걸려 얻은 PK를 키커로 나선 김범주(18번)가 성공시키며 2대0을 만들었다.
후반전 천안제일고의 매서운 공격을 수비수 김선동(6번)과 골키퍼 노상연(1번)의 실들린 선방으로 막아내며 우승을 차지했다.
지난 1월 27일부터 시작된 예선에서 전북현대U18은 보물섬남해스포츠클럽U18(8:1 승), 서울 풋볼A U18(5:2 승), 의정부광동U18(3:1 승)을 차례로 격파하며 대회 22강에 안착했다.
조별리그 1위로 22강 본선 토너먼트에 오른 전북현대U18은 김포U18와 맞붙어 2:0 승리를 이끌어내며 16강에 올랐다.
아산U18과 맞붙은 16강전에서는 노현준(11번)의 연속골에 힘입어 5:1 대승으로 경기를 마쳤다.
8강과 4강에서는 김범주(18번)와 박도현(15번)의 맹활약에 힘입어 화성시U18팀과 충원고를 각각 6:1 제압하고 결승에 진출했다.
최우수 감독상을 수상한 이광현 감독을 비롯해 최우수 코치상(전광환 코치), 최우수 선수상(노연우), 득점상(김범주), 공격상(노현준), 베스트 영플레이어상(한승민), GK상(노상연) 등 다수의 개인상까지 휩쓸었다.
전북현대U18은 지난 2024년 제46회 문화체육관광부장관배에서 7전 전승으로 우승한 데 이어 이번 대회에서도 정상에 오르며 대회 최정상급 팀으로서의 전통과 저력을 다시 한 번 입증했다.
