전북특별자치도가 장애인의 고속도로 이용 편의를 높이기 위해 추진 중인 ‘하이패스 단말기 무상 보급사업’이 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.
이 사업은 전북특별자치도와 한국도로공사가 지난 2019년 체결한 업무협약에 따라 시작된 것으로, 장애인의 안전운전과 경제적 부담 완화를 위한 복지 지원책이다.
도에 따르면 지난해까지 총 5,545명의 장애인에게 단말기가 보급됐으며, 올해는 3월부터 553대를 선착순으로 추가 보급 중이다. 이에 따라 2025년까지 총 6,098대가 무상으로 전달될 예정이다.
