전북특별자치도는 31일 도청에서 허명숙 신임 전북여성가족재단 제2대 원장에게 임명장을 수여했다.

전북여성가족재단은 여성·가족 정책의 연구와 실행을 총괄하는 컨트롤타워로, 2023년 7월 출범 이후 성평등 정책 연구 및 제도 개선, 여성의 경제·사회 참여 확대, 가족친화 및 돌봄 기반 확충 등 다양한 분야에서 정책 성과를 창출해 왔다.

출범 3년 차를 맞은 재단은 정책 연구의 전문성은 물론, 현장과 연계한 실질적 실행 역량이 더욱 요구되는 시점으로, 이번 제2대 원장 임명을 계기로 재단의 역할이 한층 강화될 것으로 기대된다.

허명숙 신임 원장은 “현장경험과 그동안 쌓아 온 노하우를 바탕으로 도민이 체감할 수 있는 성평등·가족정책을 더욱 정교하게 발전시키겠다”며 “도와 시·군, 유관기관 간 협력을 강화하고, 분야별 전문가 의견수렴 등을 통해 도민 체감형 정책발굴과 실행으로 전북 여성·가족정책의 미래를 선도하겠다”고 밝혔다.

김관영 도지사는 “전북 여성·가족 정책을 중심으로 돌봄, 일자리 등 도민 삶과 직결된 분야에서 재단의 연구·정책 발굴 기능을 더욱 강화해야 한다”며 “도정의 핵심 가치인 성평등 사회 구현과 도민 삶의 질 향상을 체계적으로 뒷받침해 주길 바란다”고 당부했다.

한편, 허명숙 신임 원장의 취임식은 2일 전북여성가족재단 시무식과 함께 진행될 예정이며, 5일 열리는 ‘2026 전북여성 신년인사회’에서는 향후 재단 운영 방향과 비전을 밝힐 계획이다.

On the 31st, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province presented an appointment letter to Heo Myeong-suk, the newly appointed second director of the Jeonbuk Women and Family Foundation, at the provincial office.

The Jeonbuk Women and Family Foundation serves as a control tower overseeing research and implementation of women and family policies. Since its establishment in July 2023, the foundation has produced policy achievements in various areas such as research and improvement of gender equality policies, expansion of women's economic and social participation, and enhancement of family-friendly and care-based infrastructure.

As the foundation enters its third year, there is an increasing demand for expertise in policy research as well as practical implementation linked to the field. With the appointment of the second director, it is expected that the foundation's role will be further strengthened.

The newly appointed director, Heo Myeong-suk, stated, "Based on my practical experience and accumulated expertise, I will further develop gender equality and family policies that residents can feel and experience more intricately." She also expressed her commitment to leading the future of Jeonbuk's women and family policies through policy discovery and implementation that resonates with residents, by enhancing cooperation among the province, cities and counties, and related agencies, and gathering expert opinions from various fields.

Governor Kim Gwan-young emphasized the need to further strengthen the foundation's research and policy discovery functions in areas directly related to residents' lives, such as care and employment, focusing on Jeonbuk's women and family policies. He urged for systematic support to realize the core values of gender equality society and improve residents' quality of life.

The inauguration ceremony for Director Heo Myeong-suk is scheduled to take place on the 2nd along with the Jeonbuk Women and Family Foundation's inaugural ceremony. At the '2026 Jeonbuk Women's New Year's Greetings' event on the 5th, the future direction and vision of the foundation's operation will be revealed.
