전북현대모터스FC가 2026시즌을 향한 본격적인 선수단 개편에 착수하며 공수 양면에서 확실한 보강을 이뤄냈다.

전북현대는 ‘K리그1 최고 수준의 윙어’ 김승섭(사진 위)과 잠재력이 검증된 차세대 골키퍼 이주현(사진 아래)을 연이어 영입하며 디펜딩 챔피언으로서 왕좌 수성과 아시아 무대 재도약을 향한 첫 단추를 끼웠다.

전북은 제주SKFC에서 활약한 공격수 김승섭(29)을 영입해 측면 공격력을 대폭 강화했다. 김승섭은 탄탄한 체격과 폭발적인 스피드를 겸비한 윙어로, 좌우 측면은 물론 공격형 미드필더까지 소화 가능한 멀티 자원이다. 2018년 대전하나시티즌에서 프로 데뷔한 그는 꾸준한 성장세를 이어왔고, 2023년 제주 이적 후 K리그1 무대에서도 경쟁력을 입증했다.

특히 군 복무 기간인 2024~2025년 김천상무에서 정정용 감독의 지도 아래 기량이 비약적으로 발전했다. 2025시즌에는 7골 3도움을 기록하며 커리어 하이를 달성했고, 전역 후 제주로 복귀해 팀의 1부 잔류를 결정짓는 결정적인 득점을 터뜨리며 해결사 면모를 과시했다. 왕성한 활동량과 수비 가담 능력, 정교한 킥을 바탕으로 한 슈팅과 크로스는 전북의 공격 전술에 큰 다양성을 더할 전망이다.

수비진에서도 전북은 확실한 카드 한 장을 추가했다.

부천FC1995 출신으로 김천상무에서 활약한 골키퍼 이주현(27)을 영입해 송범근과 함께 K리그1 최강의 골키퍼 라인을 구축했다. 188cm의 신체 조건을 갖춘 이주현은 안정적인 수비 리딩과 뛰어난 캐칭 능력이 강점으로, 2025시즌 K리그1에서 14경기 15실점, 5차례 클린시트를 기록하며 정상급 골키퍼로 도약했다.

두 선수 모두 김천상무 시절 정정용 감독과 호흡을 맞춘 경험이 있어 전술 이해도 면에서도 높은 시너지가 기대된다. 김승섭은 “명문 전북현대에서 다시 한번 도전할 수 있어 영광”이라며 우승 수성을 다짐했고, 이주현 역시 “전북의 우승 전통을 이어가는 데 힘을 보태겠다”고 각오를 밝혔다.

Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC has started a full-scale overhaul of their squad for the 2026 season, achieving significant reinforcements on both offense and defense.

Jeonbuk Hyundai has made sure reinforcements in both attack and defense by consecutively acquiring 'K League 1's top-level winger' Kim Seung-seop (pictured above) and the promising next-generation goalkeeper Lee Joo-hyun (pictured below), marking the first step towards defending their throne as champions and making a leap on the Asian stage.

Jeonbuk strengthened their attacking power by signing forward Kim Seung-seop (29) from Jeju SK FC. Kim Seung-seop, equipped with a solid physique and explosive speed, is a winger capable of playing on both sides and even as an attacking midfielder. Making his professional debut with Daejeon Citizen in 2018, he has shown steady growth and proved his competitiveness in the K League 1 stage after moving to Jeju in 2023.

Especially during his military service period from 2024 to 2025 at Gimcheon Sangmu under the guidance of Coach Jung Jung-yong, his skills improved dramatically. In the 2025 season, he achieved a career-high with 7 goals and 3 assists, and upon discharge, he returned to Jeju and showcased his decisive scoring ability, securing the team's stay in the top division. With his vigorous activity, defensive contribution, precise shooting, and crosses based on his refined kicking ability, he is expected to add significant diversity to Jeonbuk's attacking tactics.

In defense, Jeonbuk also added a strong card. They acquired goalkeeper Lee Joo-hyun (27), who hails from Bucheon FC 1995 and played for Gimcheon Sangmu, to build the strongest goalkeeper line in the K League 1 alongside Song Beom-geun. Standing at 188cm, Lee Joo-hyun possesses stable defensive leadership and excellent catching ability. In the 2025 K League 1 season, he made a leap to become a top-tier goalkeeper, conceding 15 goals in 14 matches and achieving 5 clean sheets.

Both players have experience of working with Coach Jung Jung-yong during their time at Gimcheon Sangmu, which is expected to bring high synergy in terms of tactical understanding. Kim Seung-seop expressed his determination to solidify the championship tradition of Jeonbuk by saying, "It is an honor to be able to challenge once again at the prestigious Jeonbuk Hyundai," while Lee Joo-hyun also stated, "I will contribute to continuing Jeonbuk's tradition of winning championships."
