무주군립요양병원은 지하 1층~지상 3층, 125병상(인공신장실 12병상) 규모로 신경외과·가정의학과·한의과 3개 진료과를 운영 중이다. 개원 이후 누적 환자 수는 입원·외래를 합쳐 1,400여 명이다.
한편 병원은 지난 7월 농협 하나로마트와 협약을 맺고 식재료를 구매하는 등 지역농산물 소비 확대와 지역경제 활성화에도 나서고 있다.
