전북현대가 뒷문 강화를 위해 부산 아이파크의 ‘철기둥’ 조위제(24)를 영입하며 수비진의 세대교체를 가속화한다.

전북현대는 7일 부산 아이파크에서 맹활약하며 K리그 최고의 중앙 수비수 유망주로 손꼽히는 조위제의 영입을 확정했다고 밝혔다.

이번 영입은 팀의 견고한 수비 전통을 이어가고 동시에 한층 더 젊고 역동적인 수비 라인을 구축하기 위한 전술적 선택이다.

2001년생인 조위제는 189cm, 82kg의 우월한 신체 조건을 바탕으로 한 공중볼 장악 능력이 탁월하다.

큰 키에 빠른 스피드와 영리한 위치 선정 능력을 갖추고 있어, 대인 마크와 커버 플레이 모두에서 리그 최정상급 기량을 선보여 왔다.

부산 아이파크의 핵심 센터백으로 활약하며 수비 리딩 능력을 검증받은 조위제는 U-23 대표팀을 거치며 차세대 국가대표 수비수로도 주목받고 있다.

프로 5년 차에 접어든 조위제는 K리그2 무대에서 4년 동안 104경기에 출전하며 쌓은 경험을 바탕으로 빌드업 능력과 수비 범위가 넓어 팀 전술도 큰 힘이 될 것으로 보인다.
